Active Lifestyle Awards Evening 2010 On the 30th September saw Telford and Wrekin Council hosting the glittering Active Lifestyle Awards Evening at Oakengates Theatre.  This is to celebrate the achievements of sporting performers, teams and clubs within the area and was attended by more than 200 people. Supported by RICOH UK, the event saw more than 60 awards presented at the evening that was hosted by BBC Radio Shropshire's Eric Smith. The awards included 34 sports scholarships split into gold, silver and bronze for individuals who perform at regional or national level in their chosen sport.

Receiving bronze awards on the night were Wrekin College Swimming Club's members Paige Norry-Addison (Aged 12), Macauley Carline (Aged 14) and Alice Cousins (Aged 16) all for recognition for their achievements in swimming during the past year and silver being awarded to Alexandra Davis (Aged 13) for her achievements in the modern pentathlon, who also swims for Wrekin College. Congratulations and Well Done.

However, although we already knew it; it has now been recognised by Telford and Wrekin Council that Wrekin College Swimming Club has officially the best coaches in Shropshire with Rachel Reilly our Age Group Coach winning the highly coveted Coach of the Year Award.  Rachel has also since been short listed for the Shropshire Energise awards evening on 21st October at the Shrewsbury Town football club.  Congratulation to Rachel in recognition for all her hard work in developing alongside our Youth coach Dave Clarke the most successful and competitive swimming club in the region.
