Wrekin Make Waves at Championships

At the 2009 Midland Short Course Championships which were held at the Corby International Pool in Corby on the 7^th & 8^th November Wrekin College SC swimmer Olivia Phoenix, Madelaine Tracy and Charlotte Humphreys all made waves with some superb swims over the weekend with a Bronze medal and 9 PB's amongst them.

Competing against the best young swimmers in the Midlands, Olivia Phoenix swam excellently in the 100M and 200M Freestyle and also smashed her previous personal best times in both the 100M and 200M Backstroke events.

Also swimming at the Championships was fellow Wrekin College swimmer Madelaine Tracy, who swam under the one minute milestone in the 100M Freestyle for the first time in a personal best time of 59.92, and also PB'd in the 50M, 200M Freestyle and 200M IM. Not content with her achievements Maddy also won bronze in the 100M Individual Medley with a personal best time of 1:09.34 and also made the grand finals for the event finishing 8^th overall.

Charlotte Humphreys also competing swam outstandingly in all her events with massive PB's in both the 50M Freestyle and 50M Butterfly.
