achievementWhilst National Qualifying Times (NQTs) are the mechanism to enable event organisers to control the number of people accepted for an event, they are often used by coaches and seen by parents as an achievement of a standard.

Lauren Lands National Print

On the 16th April, Lauren Holland (Aged 11) swam in the Stockport Metro Long Course Open Meet at the Grand Central Pool in Stockport.

Lauren competing in the 800M Freestyle event, gained her first ever National Qualifying Time (NQT) with a time of 10:26.27 and also achieved a massive personal best.  This is an incredible achievement for Lauren and Bagcats Coach Rachel Reilly and yet again confirms the quality of the coaching at Wrekin College, Shropshire's number one swimming club.

Laser Quasar Party Print

Dave Clarke & Rachel Reilly To celebrate our successful debut in the recent Shropshire Age Group Championships where we were officially crowned the number one club in the County. Wrekin College Swimming Club members enjoyed an evening at the Shrewsbury Quasar Centre followed by a meal. The event was also organised to allow the swimmers to say Thank You to their dedicated coaches for all the hard work and preparation they've put in over the past few months preparing all our swims for the Counties.

Special thanks to Kerry Barnett for organising the evening, and Jane Harris for arranging the gifts for David and Rachel.

New FINA Swimwear Approval Print

Regulation valid for swimwear to be used from January 1st 2010
(Revised 02/03/10)

These rules include the rules applicable to swimwear in accordance with FINA Rule GR 5.

From 1st January 2010 all competitions in England, Scotland and Wales will be applying the FINA rules below in relation to Swimsuits for swimming (excluding Masters and Open Water) competitions.

Paige Gains National Print

On the 26th March, Paige Norry-Addison (Aged 11) swam in the City of Sheffield Premier Open Meet at the Ponds Forge International Pool in Sheffield.

Paige competing in the 800M Freestyle event, gained her first ever National Qualifying Time (NQT) with a time of 10:34.76 and swam superbly and achieved a massive personal best.  This is a remarkable achievement for both Paige and Bagcats Coach Rachel Reilly and confirms the quality and depth of swimming at Wrekin College, Shropshire's number one swimming club.

Top Club in the County 2010 Print

number1Wrekin College Swimming Club is proud to announce it is now officially the Top Swimming Club in the County after walking away with the coveted trophy at this years Shropshire Age Group Championships held at Market Drayton over the weekends of the 27th & 28th February and 13th and 14th March 2010.

Megan Makes Nationals Print

On the 7th February, Wrekin College Swimming Club member Megan Carline (Aged 11) swam in the West Midlands 800M & 1500M time trials held at the Coventry 50M International Pool.

Megan competing in the 800M event, swam exceptionally and achieved a massive personal best and also gained her first ever National Qualifying Time (NQT) with a time of 10:31.08.  This is a fantastic achievement for both Megan and Bagcats Coach Rachel Reilly.

Her coach Rachel Reilly said:
