Philippa's National Success Print
Triathlon Club News

On the 21st March Philippa Brown (Aged 14) competed in The British School Biathlon Finals held at Crystal Palace National Sport Centre.  On arrival she was ranked 25th after coming 3rd in her regional heat at Solihull in November.

She was the slowest runner to qualify for the finals and so was in the slowest heat of three. She ran a fantastic 1000m race to win her heat and also beat the majority of runners in the next heat knocking nearly 30 seconds off her entry time.

After a 2 hour break she was in the pool, for her 100m race swimming in the second fastest heat of the day. She was slightly outside her personal best which left her in 8th place for the swimming section.

All competitors scores for the run and the swim were then added up and Philippa finished a fabulous 6th place overall competing against children from all over Britian.

The competition is organised by Pentathlon GB. Thousands of children from schools around the country take part in the championships with categories for boys and girls from Year 5 up to Sixth Form.

Jim Mostyn was over the moon and is very much looking forward to working with her in the future towards other events.
Congratulation and Well Done.
