County Summary - 1st Weekend

On the 27^th and 28^th of February, the town of Market Drayton was besieged with swimmers from all over the county taking part in the 2010 Shropshire County Championships Gala. This was the first time Wrekin College Swimming & Triathlon Club had competed in the "Counties" as a club and fielded a team of 28 swimmers in total.

Although our numbers may have seemed low compared to other more established clubs in the County, our medals tally certainly wasn't with an unbelievable 58 medals won and an even more incredible 107 personal bests [PB's] swam over the weekend.

Also over the weekend Wrekin College Swimming & Triathlon Clubs members also recorded 54 Midland District Qualifying Times [MDQT] and also smashed 5 County Records with Olivia Phoenix in the 200m Backstroke, Maddy Tracy in the 200m Individual Medley, Charles Percox and Maddy Tracy (again) in the 400m Individual Medley and Megan Carline in the 800m Freestyle.

But the best was yet to come with Maddy Tracy (Aged 14) gaining her second National Qualifying Time for the year in the 400m Individual Medley in a time of 5:04.23 to go with her 400m Freestyle already achieved.
