Alexandra DavisA Shropshire Athlete had a demanding weekend in her quest for stardom in the modern pentathlon.

Alexandra Davis a student at Wrekin College started on Saturday morning at 8:00am swimming in the 2010 Shropshire County Championships Gala at Market Drayton and coming away with three personal bests.

On Saturday afternoon it was off to Lancaster to take part in the North West Open Tetrathlon. The competition was fierce with clubs and teams from all over the country competing. On Sunday morning she took part in the fencing and shooting followed by the swim and the run.

Alexandra who swims for Wrekin College Swimming & Triathlon Club and is a member of Pentathlon GB, scored two more personal bests including a 16 seconds PB on her 1,000 metres eventually achieving a remarkable 2nd overall in the Biathlon, 6th overall in the Triathlon and 4th in the Tetrathlon.

This was her first effort on her own against all these experienced organised clubs and to come away with silverware was a fantastic achievement.
